VEU Program Details

The Victorian Energy Upgrades program is a government initiative that aims to help Victorians reduce their power bills and greenhouse gas emissions by providing incentives to upgrade inefficient appliances

The program offers incentives for households to upgrade to efficient reverse cycle air conditioners, which can heat and cool your home.
Only products meeting VEU program requirements can be installed under this program.
To get a discount on the installation of a heating and cooling system, you must install an approved product.
Sale and Installation of your new system must be carried out by an accredited provider.

Every Victorian household can participate in the program and be eligible for incentives for energy-efficient products and services.

Depending on the existing HVAC equipment being removed and which energy efficent air conditioners are being installed, will determine the amount of rebate available to you, this can be up to $5,000 in some cases.

Private rental properties are eligible to receive upgrades under the VEU program. However, landlords and tenants should work together when undertaking any upgrades to a property.

The average household can save between $120 and $1,100 a year on energy costs depending on the upgraded equipment.
